Geocaching 101

Newbie geocachers will have a chance to learn the basics at SLAGA's Geocaching 101 class on Saturday, October 9, 2010. This class for beginners is open to the public, and includes a PowerPoint presentation along with sample cache containers, swag, logbooks, and other geocaching items on display. Bring your GPS unit and cable, and meet us at Queeny Park from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, in the Greensfelder Recreation Complex (550 Weidman Road, Ballwin, MO 63011). A laptop will be available to transfer waypoints to your GPS unit if needed. After the indoor session, we will go outside, where we will break up into small groups to learn about using a GPS for locating and hiding geocaches, and other related questions.

Advance registration is required. Call 314-615-4FUN (4386). This class is taught by SLAGA volunteers, and the price of admission ($10 per person) is split between SLAGA and the St. Louis County Parks Department.
