Join us bright and early on Saturday, January 1st at Golden Corral in Alton, Illinois. Golden Corral has a great breakfast buffet where they will make omelets to order at the omelet bar. They also have fresh fruit and almost any kind of breakfast food you would want. Breakfast starts at 8:00 am, and afterward, we will focus on three 2001 caches (GCE23, GC133A, GC168F) and a new earthcache (GC2K7X4) in Pere Marquette State Park. This caching trip is extra and is not required in order for you to log the meet & greet event. If you're not familiar with the area, Pere Marquette is 17 miles WNW of the restaurant. Terrain will range from 2.5 to 3.5, so be prepared to do some hiking! There is also a great opportunity to see some bald eagles feeding along the Illinois River adjacent to the park.
