MOGA is Back with SLAGA
In November, 2017, the Board of Directors of MOGA Events Inc. resigned, thus ending the seven-year not-for-profit organization. The MOGA Events Inc. bylaws, filed with the State of Missouri, stated that in the event of ending the organization, any monies left over after everything was finalized would be turned over to the St. Louis Area Geocachers Association (SLAGA).
During the first week in July, 2018, the books were closed and a check from the President of MOGA Events Inc., Mike Griffin, was presented to the SLAGA board.
The SLAGA Board of Directors, by unanimous vote, elected to continue the MOGA tradition and turned the duties of Director over to John Elfrank, who was also a past MOGA Events Director.
Although not officially announced, SLAGA is pleased to report that they have secured a venue at Mark Twain Lake at the Indian Creek Reservation for April 5th and 6th, 2019 for MOGA 2019.
MOGA 2019 will not be a MEGA event with Geocaching.com due to the new design of the event, however, if attendance at MOGA 2019 is over 500 people, then MOGA will reapply for MEGA Event status for MOGA 2020.
SLAGA would like to thank Mike Griffin and the rest of the MOGA Events Inc. Board of Directors for allowing MOGA to continue with the group that originally hosted the first MOGA event in Hawn State Park.
Watch for updates and future announcements on the MOGA Facebook page. Until then, MOGA, MOGA, MOGA!
