AGENDA ITEM: OLD BUSINESS - Equipment Trailer Update
Presenter: John Elfrank
Discussion: The chemicals that have been tried so far haven't been very effective at removing the glue from the sides of the trailer. Mike Henthorn now has the trailer and will see if he has anything that can remove the glue. Jim talked to the Red Cross representatives at the Busch Outdoor Expo, and we may be able to get a good price on a First Aid kit for the trailer through the Red Cross.

Action Item: Get in touch with Mike Henthorn to see if he is able to remove glue from the trailer.
Person Responsible: John Elfrank, Deadline: Next Board Meeting.

AGENDA ITEM: OLD BUSINESS - Busch Outdoor Expo
Presenter: John Elfrank
Discussion: Turnout was low this year, probably due to another public event that day in St. Charles. We had about 12 SLAGA volunteers working the booth and temporary cache course.
Conclusions: Because of the large turnout of volunteers, it was decided that SLAGA should participate again next year if possible.

AGENDA ITEM: OLD BUSINESS - SLAGA Geocoin Icon
Presenter: Jim Greene
Discussion: Jim has had trouble getting the final artwork to look good, and has asked a design person to help.

Action Item: Get proof of final icon artwork.
Person Responsible: Jim Greene, Deadline: Next Board Meeting.

AGENDA ITEM: OLD BUSINESS - SLAGA History Document
Presenter: John Elfrank
Discussion: Laurie Elfrank has agreed to update the SLAGA History Document on an annual basis going forward.

AGENDA ITEM: OLD BUSINESS - Park Palooza
Presenter: John Elfrank
Discussion: Eleven SLAGA members have volunteered to work the event. (This number does not include SLAGA officers.) Rich Sheffold will work Saturday and will set up the temporary caches. Rich said that last year, we were allowed to set up around 7:30 am, the event started at 9:00 am, and ended at 3:00 pm. We will have a different location this year, which is close to the parking lot.
Conclusions: It was decided that all ten SLAGA GPS units will be used at Park Palooza, instead of splitting them up between this event and the GPS 101 class.

Action Item: Ask for more volunteers in next email blast.
Person Responsible: John Elfrank, Deadline: ASAP.

Action Item: Email work schedule to volunteers.
Person Responsible: Laurie Elfrank, Deadline: August 12, 2009.

AGENDA ITEM: OLD BUSINESS - Trifold Brochure
Presenter: Jim Greene
Discussion: Jim received a printing quote from County Blue, and will receive a proof either at Saturday's event or next week.

Action Item: Order 1000 black-and-white trifold brochures.
Person Responsible: Jim Greene, Deadline: Next Board Meeting.

AGENDA ITEM: NEW BUSINESS - Ongoing Volunteer Duties
Presenter: Rich Sheffold
Discussion: Rich would like someone to take over the duties of updating the New Cache report, the Disabled & Archived Cache report, and the St. Louis County Parks cache list. Since the lists have grown so large, it may be best to divide the job between two volunteers from different parts of St. Louis County. John reminded everyone that Paul Konopacki will resign as Webmaster as of December 31, 2009. Mike Griffin has agreed to take over Webmaster duties at that time. He would like the officers to look at other geocaching organizations' websites and make suggestions on how the new SLAGA website should look.

Action Item: Discuss transition of Webmaster duties with Paul Konopacki and Mike Griffin.
Person Responsible: John Elfrank, Deadline: October Board Meeting.

Action Item: Recruit volunteers to maintain cache lists.
Person Responsible: John Elfrank, Deadline: December 31, 2009.

Action Item: Ask Steve Bromley and Jack Anderson whether they will be willing to continue their duties as Communications Administrator and Membership Administrator.
Person Responsible: John Elfrank, Deadline: Next Board Meeting.

AGENDA ITEM: NEW BUSINESS - SLAGA County Challenge
Presenter: Roger Barnes
Discussion: Roger has been working on putting together a SLAGA County Challenge cache and would like SLAGA's input. Roger asked if SLAGA would donate a plaque to use to display the names of geocachers who complete the challenge.

Action Item: Get quote on plaque and name plates.
Person Responsible: John Elfrank, Deadline: ASAP.

Action Item: Get quote on additional minting of 25 to 50 SLAGA geocoins with a different metal or colors from previous mintings, 25 of which would be used for prizes for the first 25 finders.
Person Responsible: Jim Greene, Deadline: ASAP.

AGENDA ITEM: NEW BUSINESS - GPS 101 Class
Presenter: John Elfrank
Discussion: So far, Mike Henthorn, Jim Greene, and Sarah Chisholm have volunteered to help teach the class.
Conclusions: All SLAGA GPS units will be in use at Park Palooza, so instructors will need to bring their own GPS units for one-on-one demonstrations.

Action Item: Ask for more volunteers in next email blast.
Person Responsible: John Elfrank, Deadline: ASAP.

Action Item: Contact St. Louis County Parks Dept. to find out how many people will be attending.
Person Responsible: Rich Sheffold, Deadline: Sept. 9.

AGENDA ITEM: NEW BUSINESS - St. Francois Family Play Day
Presenter: John Elfrank
Discussion: Jamie from St. Francois State Park has asked SLAGA to set up a booth at their Sept. 26 event.
Conclusions: SLAGA will participate as long as the annual Fall Picnic does not fall on the same date. We may also be able to offer to host a CITO event at the same time.

Action Item: Confirm with Jamie whether SLAGA will be able to participate.
Person Responsible: Laurie Elfrank, Deadline: As soon as Fall Picnic date is set.
